Sporadic attendance notice
The overtime hitteth, like a torque wrench to the mouth!
Actually, both of those things happened: Monday I was installing a new engine in a Piper TurboArrow, my torque wrench slipped off an engine mount and caught me in the mouth. A foot/pound torque wrench is 18" (1/2 meter) long and weighs nearly a pound (sorry, don't know the Kg equiv). Didn't break any teeth, but did split my upper lip. Gash ran 1/2way to my nose with copious loss of life-fluid. Slapped on a band-aid and went back to work. 10 hours that day, 9 hours today and now I can't sleep.
In any case, the point is I won't be around as often as I'd like, possibly through FEB. Too many annual inspections, 3 more engine changes and whatever the school throws at us- oh and one of thier students forgot to put the landing gear down last week: no injuries but about $50 grand in damage, not counting our labor...
Will still get my stories in for the challenges and read everyone elses. Sniveling done, going to bed now. Will check in when I can (or if I have more insomnia).

Good luck - and keep a stiff upper lip!
BTW, there was sympathy in there! Don't over do it!

Yes, a good British stiff upper lip should help...
Get better soon WG, and keep working hard!

Re: Sporadic attendance notice
My boss picked up some sheet metal shears and asked if he needed to amputate, my co-worker asked me to please bleed in a different color (hates red), and the next morning, my wife told me not to lose an eye that day, so thanx for the sympathy! Certainly not getting any around here; least of all from myself. One should never be seated when applying any torque greater than 150 inch/pounds.
But the swelling has mostly gone down and the cut is healing... overall not as bad as the time I forgot to ensure the magnetos were off before I turned the prop- nearly lost a hand that day. At least this scar won't be 3 inches long...
