Actually, both of those things happened: Monday I was installing a new engine in a Piper TurboArrow, my torque wrench slipped off an engine mount and caught me in the mouth. Larry Hama. He wrote the GI Joe comic book for Marvel in the 80's. Based around the character of Snake-Eyes, Larry Hama created a vast mythology with roots in the Vietnam war and based around characters he created profiles for. He thoroughly researched military history as well as foreign cultures and used these to form the characters. He let the characters and their backgrounds dictate his stories. Outstanding effects. I really enjoyed it. But I must say that as a diehard fan it left me wondering if they plan to rewrite the entire premise of the story line. With the planet Vulcan now destroyed, in the time when Kirk and the rest of the crew were just starting out in Starfleet, and with 2 Spokes now in the same time period, this takes the franchise in a whole new direction.
